Main Duties and Responsibilities


The successful candidate will be provided with on the job training in the following areas of work:


  • Asbestos and other hazardous materials monitoring;
  • Clearance inspections and reports;
  • Asbestos and other hazardous materials surveys and registers;
  • Sampling and analysis;
  • Occupational hygiene assessments including water damage, mould, dust, noise and lighting;
  • Reviews of published environmental information (e.g. site history, geology, aerial photographs) relating to the environmental status of sites to inform desk-based preliminary environmental reports;
  • Varying site works to collect soil, sediment, surface water and groundwater samples;
  • Environmental sampling and analysis data management and data quality assessment;
  • Project and client management; and
  • Preparing accurate high-quality reports.

The roles will involve travelling and at times working at weekends and other unsocial hours as required from time to time.

This involves an assessment of the extent of damage and guidance on the level of remediation works required or an evaluation of the extent of remediation works performed to reduce hazards associated with a contamination event. 


The Consultant will provide a range of the following services and activities to clients of EDP: 

  • Conduct assessments of properties and develop a scope of works to manage/remediate the hazards associated with a contamination event;
  • Conduct assessments of properties that have undergone remediation works to assess the extent of works and determine if the works were sufficient to address the hazards associated with the contamination event;
  • Development and delivery of restoration training programs tailored to meet the demands of clients;
  • Utilise approved sampling techniques to understand the conditions/contaminants within buildings;
  • Prepare accurate high-quality reports in a timely fashion;
  • Consult with clients to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions;
  • Project manage small to medium jobs;
