RSK, a global leader in the delivery of sustainable solutions, has established RSK Labs, a National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA)-accredited occupational hygiene sampling and analysis facility in New South Wales.

RSK Labs (formerly Pickford and Rhyder Consulting) follows the fifth and latest acquisition by the RSK Group in Australia. It is a laboratory facility accredited by NATA – Australia’s leading national accreditation body – that assists individuals and organisations with quality and cost-effective analysis and monitoring.

RSK Labs provides comprehensive risk assessments for workplace hazards, asbestos, airborne dust and fibres and laboratory analysis. Its scope includes identification, sampling and analysis of asbestos, respirable dust, respirable quartz and cotton dust, among others. All Pickford and Rhyder employees will remain part of RSK Labs and join a dynamic team at EDP, an RSK Australia company. This trade and asset acquisition complements and extends EDP’s NATA accreditation and provides further vertical integration of services. RSK Labs will now be able to offer existing clients additional services offered by EDP and the wider RSK Group, including environmental and contaminated land monitoring and management, occupational hygiene and property compliance, among others.

RSK Group founder and Chief Executive Officer Alan Ryder said “The business is embarking on a new stage of its journey, and the rebranding to RSK Labs is representative of that change and a clear market message for the continued advancement of RSK in Australia. As Gary Rhyder and his team continue to provide the high level of service that many customers have become accustomed to, the business will also benefit from new efficiencies and opportunities that come along with the RSK Group of businesses.”

RSK Labs will continue to be the reference laboratory for Proficiency Testing Australia (PTA) with the creation of reference samples for asbestos air monitoring, asbestos bulk and asbestos in soil. These samples are used to benchmark commercial laboratories across Australia.

Operations Manager of RSK Labs (formerly Managing Director of Pickford and Rhyder), and past president of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists, Gary Rhyder, said, “Over the past 40 years, the Pickford and Rhyder name has become synonymous with quality and expertise in Australia. I am confident that joining the RSK Group and establishing RSK Labs will enable us to go from strength to strength and be the laboratory of choice for all sampling and analysis needs.”
