EDP Joins RSK Group
We are delighted to announce the acquisition of EDP by RSK Group Ltd, which took place on 2 March 2021.
This acquisition marks an important stage in the life of EDP and is a significant point of acceleration in our strategy to build a global multi-disciplinary Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability Consultancy business.
“We see many exciting opportunities for EDP’s health and safety, asbestos, property compliance, environment, sustainability, and security services to complement other business in the RSK group,” says RSK Chief Executive Officer and founder Alan Ryder. “With EDP’s strong international credentials we are excited to develop RSK’s presence further in Singapore, and Australia, which has been on our radar for some time.”
RSK is a leading independent engineering and environmental consultancy, and provider of technical support services, headquartered in the UK and operating internationally. It has a diverse portfolio of projects around the world, including technical disciplines that are complementary to and supportive of what EDP already does and together the businesses are excited to build on the strong client base and high-quality service delivery that are the trademark of both brands.
EDP joins RSK’s Environment and Planning (E&P) division under the direction of Sarah Mogford. EDP Managing Director John Batty will continue to lead the business in Australia reporting to EDP Group Managing Director Mark Haydock. John Batty notes “As we celebrate the business turning two years in Australia with significant growth in the team, I’m excited about the opportunities that joining RSK will bring with it. RSK’s values and culture align with what makes EDP great and I have no doubt that we will continue to offer the same high-quality service to all our clients while maintaining and growing on our innovative position in the market.”
EDP Group Managing Director Mark Haydock comments, “Since our management buyout out in 2014, we have taken the business from strength to strength and in joining RSK we are now able to work with partners across the RSK group to realise our aspirations for the EDP brand in terms of further international growth, the breadth and depth of our service offering and the countless new opportunities we will create for the business, our clients and each one of our employees.”
Sarah Mogford, RSK’s E&P Divisional Director, adds, “We are thrilled that EDP is joining the RSK Group; we think that the business is a great fit in terms of alignment of culture and entrepreneurial ethos, and it brings both a strong dynamic leadership team who are committed to the continued development of the EDP business within the Group and talented experienced teams of people. We have been particularly impressed by EDP’s prestigious and broad client base, the growth of the business in the UK and globally and the excellent trading year the business has had during incredibly challenging circumstances of the past 12 months.”
